Engineering Trainee (m/f/d) – Production Logistics

As an Engineering Trainee - Production Logistics, you will be responsible for controlling and optimizing internal and external material flows, taking into account the material flow and inventory limits.

What awaits you

  • You are responsible for the control and optimization of internal and external material flows, taking into account the material flow and stock limits
  • You supervise operational and strategic projects for the optimization of material flows and inventory management within the plant and in the European environment
  • You are responsible for the planning and coordination of material transports and deliveries in day-to-day business
  • You revise work instructions and process flows to ensure that customer requirements and legal regulations are met
  • You actively support Novelis' internal WCM (World Class Manufacturing) production program

How you convince us

  • You have successfully completed your studies - preferably a Master's degree - in the field of mechanical engineering, production logistics, industrial engineering, transportation engineering, rail vehicle technology or similar
  • Ideally, you have already gained some experience in supply chain management, transport logistics or site planning during your studies
  • You have methodological knowledge in the field of material flow optimization (value stream mapping), pull/kanban systems and operations research
  • You have a hands-on mentality and want to drive sustainable solutions for our company with passion and know-how and bring your ideas to the table
  • Communication and teamwork skills are among your strengths
  • You like to make decisions and take responsibility
  • Open-mindedness, authenticity and openness characterize you
  • Business fluent German and English as well as good MS-Office skills complete your profile

Your trainee at the Göttingen site
Locationinfo: The Göttingen plant in central Germany is an important European site for the production of beverage can stock and surface-treated aluminium for many attractive markets and employs around 700 people. It specializes in the surface treatment of aluminium coil stock and includes a research and development center primarily concerned with the study and development of surface coatings and the simulation of end-product manufacturing at the customer's site. In addition, the Göttingen plant supplies extruded bottles, cartridges, and cases for the automotive, construction, pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries.

Novelis is committed to the local community and works in numerous collaborations with schools to promote math and science education as well as robotics competitions and workshops.
